FERN FREEMAN, New York-based jewelry designer, grew up in the fashion business. She graduated from FIT and designed and merchandised for her family’s various better sportswear firms for nearly 25 years prior to entering the fine jewelry business. In 1995, she turned her talents to designing and creating jewelry. Fern creates collections that reflect her modern, functional sensibility but maintain a certain classical style. Working primarily in 22 carat gold her jewelry creatively mixes metals and stones to produce a unique collection that is bold, daring, stylish and dramatic. Fern was selected as one of six Rising Stars for the JCK 2006 Design Center Show as well as being chosen to be showcased in Couture’s Design Atelier section in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Fern works and lives in New York City with her family. She maintains a studio in the heart of New York’s jewelry district. Her designs have been featured in many national publications, including O, Glamour, Elle, Woman’s Wear Daily, Mademoiselle, Brides, and People, and have been worn by many celebrities including Paula Zahn, Rachel Ray, Marcia Gay Harden, Lisa Kudrow and Megan Fox to name a few.
