Growing up in India, Taru Kothari developed her passion for antique jewelry. In the 1970s she began her own business, and she rapidly gained a following due to her integrity and keen eye for design. Her son Tej joined her in 1995 after earning his degree in biology. His knowledge of the natural world and appreciation for the clean lines of modern design brought a new perspective to the business. The Kothari family now resides in Northern California, where they are surrounded by a diversity of landscape and culture. Their fascination with the arts and sciences provides them with endless sources of inspiration for their designs.
